This dual language translation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in english and punjabi was commenced by S. Manmohan Singh a devout Sikh and and a gallant participant in the Akali movement. This is a simple and handy translation of the Sikh sacred text which is accessible to all regardless of language or faith. While translating it, he has consulted all the prior translations, interpretations and lexicons of the  Adi Granth as well as saints and mystics of his time. His own faith and practice has played a major role in this endeavor and thus produced this voluminous work.

This translation spanning 8 volumes is beautifully published by SGPC, thus honoring the author as this was the first translation of the Sikh text in its entirety. The pages follow the standard pagination of the sacred volume with parallel Gurmukhi text with English and Punjabi translation along with it. Difficult words or terms are numbered in the text with its equal lent on the opposite page and technical terms are explained in the glossary in the final volume.
