Bhatt's (Bards) were an integral part of Sikh religion. Their panegyries  on Sikh Guru's are a part of Guru Granth Sahib. Along with it they were traditional record keepers of genealogies. Bhatts records called "Vahis" are a rich source of Sikh history. This volume was translated by Bhai Chajju Singh Bhatt from "Bhattakhri" or the language of the Bhatts into Punjabi. This volume was discovered by Giani Garja Singh in the 1950's and edited and published by Prof. Piara Singh Padam.
